Name: Hoshi Hikari.

Canon Point: Right as she wakes up in the Game.
History: Hoshi grew up in a family of three with her father, her mother and herself in Shibuya. Her father was a businessman while her mother was a waitress for a burger joint. Like every normal kid, she went to school and got average grades while she got along with mostly the boys, but not the girls, much to her parents' confusion. They tried to intervene with this by trying to get her to make friends with the girls around, but Hoshi was more or less apathetic towards this and did what she wanted. Over the years, she picked up the habits and tendencies of a boy and while her parents kept on trying to influence her to be with girls, they eventually accepted Hoshi's tomboyish nature.
Of course, it wasn't a smooth road after this as Hoshi steadily got the image of a "bad girl" among her peers due to her rebellious nature and her claim to stand up for what was right, but it was mainly because of her rebellious nature and her refusal to listen to her peers. Authority, on the other hand, was listened to with great detail all because she really was a good girl deep down. Of course, when she saw her fellow classmates get picked on, she would stand up for the weak and do what was right: protect them. Sure, it got her plenty of bruises and nicks, but she didn't mind it as long as she made someone feel safe.
As Hoshi grew up, she picked up skateboarding as a hobby and joined the locals at Shibuya's skate park. Though, from reading her comic books, she saw how great people were with swords and decided that she would pick it up as well. Thus, at the age of nine, she became fascinated with the different techniques associated with it and became proficient with iaido through her classes and when Hoshi was thirteen, her parents provided her with her very own weapon: a dagger she keeps with her to this day.
Eventually, she would meet up with members of her future "gang" through school and her swordsmanship training. The group was to have a safe haven for those who were either misunderstood or didn't really feel welcomed in society. At first, the group didn't have a name, but one of the members suggested the name to be the Crimson Champions. Hoshi liked the idea and decided to have the name be emblazoned on their outfits in some way. Thus, the Crimson Champions set up base in Dogenzaka and frequently hung out at Ramen Don.
Sadly, the group wouldn't last as the members went "missing" due to unforeseen events when in reality, they were slowly being chosen for the Reaper's Game. As Hoshi scoured Shibuya to find them, she would always come up empty. Undeterred, she would continue to search for them while her hope and faith in her friends would be tested, as well as her own strength. Though, when she found the last member of the group, a girl who went by the name Akemi Matsumoto, she was relieved and began to run toward her until she, too, went missing. A little later, she would find her dagger similarly missing, only to be stabbed by the Statue of Hachiko during the nighttime. Few hours later, she would awake again in Shibuya, but only this time, she'd be in the Reaper's Game to join her friends for a chance to live again.
Personality: At first glance, one can see that Hoshi is very cheerful and optimistic - almost to the point of being annoyingly peppy due to her positive nature. This positivity is her biggest strength, but it's also her greatest weakness. See, she's not someone who really focuses on the bad parts in her life and puts more focus on things that are good: friends, getting good grades, etc., but she can be horribly naive to how things really are in the world. While people have admired her for it, it's been pointed out in the past and she's aware of it, but it's up to her if she wants to change.
To go on with her positive traits, Hoshi is friendly and willing to help someone out even if she doesn't know them at first. This willingness to help others makes her admirable and it's part of the reason why she was considered popular in school. She's also ready to offer some wise words of wisdom to others based on her life experiences and what she's learned from other people. See, the eagerness to learn about the history of other people helps to drive her. If she can learn about someone while being their friend and help them simultaneously, then it means that she's done a good job in the end and this knowledge is what still keeps her as the positive influence she is today.
Though, one of the biggest things about her is her stubbornness and her determination that goes well beyond helping new friends and old. If she wasn't so adamant about being the tomboy she is today, then she wouldn't be the strong girl she is right now. That being said, she strongly believes that people of all kinds can be helped as well as there being good in others no matter what. Couple this with her tenacity to keep to her word and her stubbornness, she can be one tough girl to convince her to think or act otherwise.
For all of her good, she has quite a bit of bad in her, too. As someone who surrounds herself with as many people as possible, she cannot stand to be alone or lonesome as it will start to fester thoughts she's tried to keep quiet: that she might not be good enough to win the Game, that she's not good enough for her partner and that she'll inevitably fail them and not be granted another chance at life. Though, she'll dismiss their worries and try to pretend that she's okay when she's really not because the missions and the time constraints they're under. On top of that, she's prone to anger and rage at herself if she cannot protect her parner from Noise attacks or the like. Unlike her need to surround herself with as many people as possible, her anger rarely rears its' ugly head. When it does, though, it's clear that she's hard to deal with and that will alienate her even more from the very same people she's been wanting to protect.
She also feels that she's failed her friends and her gang. As the group was supposed to be a safe haven for those around who needed some form of hope only for it to be torn apart by the group members missing or deciding to disband/leave, she doesn't think her work was enough. As she tries to keep the spirit of the group up and to keep it alive, she knows it's all for naught and tries to not face the harsh reality that it is by running or shying away from facing the hard truth. She does hope that someday, it'll be able to rise up again, but perhaps being a realist is better than being an idealistic idiot in the first place.
Her tomboy nature is also something that ought to be mentioned. As it's part of her personality, it's also a sort of defense mechanism. She knows that girls can be extraordinarily strong on their own right, but she also wants to be that sort of strength that people need in a crisis. On top of that, it's also helped her get and maintain the sort of following she has. She wants to be the prince that saves the princess, not the other way around. The princesses are the people in need and she wants to be the hero. Thus, this is why she decides to be a tomboy and has the hobbies and interests she has.
It's also safe to say that she is also impulsive and rash. As people are being harmed in front of her, she will jump into action and fight to protect them, even at the cost of her own safety. She doesn't mind being harmed if it's for someone else, and while her rashness might not be one of her best traits, she's still willing to pick herself back up and face the day ahead. In fact, this behavior is what led her to get the reputation she had as a "bad girl", but even that's just a clever title and by now, she's fully accepted the role just as much as she has about being the leader of the Crimson Champions. This sort of behavior isn't about to go away any time soon, either. Though, that's left to be debated because should she not be careful, it could lead to her downfall of not being able to live again to see her friends or her parents.
Now, as she's a part of the Reaper's Game, her strength, her faith in her friends and gang, as well as how long she can go on without losing a part of herself will be tested and she hopes that the experiences she has gone through and her strength will be enough. Though, she's beginning to learn and see that maybe everything isn't all sunshines and daisies like she thought they were and that maybe being the prince isn't enough.

[ Okay, so she was used to the weird and crazy challenges, as well as how to get past the walls by completing the various Reaper requests. Go fetch something by Dogenzaka and return to 104 in the time limit? Fine. Wear all Tigre Punk clothes? Sure, she liked it. Consume five bowls of ramen? All right, whatever.
But, the one she was faced at this moment? No. No, no, no. Hell no-- ]
Like hell am I wearin' a stupid dress! I'll just find a different way around!
[ Then she remembers this was the only way to Shibukyu Stationside and that there's only so much time to complete this task. She grumbles and holds her hand up to go dress in what was needed.
She has never detested doing something like this in her life. Guess there was always a new experience to behold after all. ]
